THE northern route of Hamburg Sud's European-Mediterranean service now includes a stop at Turkey's TCEEGE Terminal, prompting the cessation of a call on Izmir, another Turkish Aegean port, which will only be served on the route's southern leg.
The call at TCEEGE, a deep-water terminal with extensive seaward and landward capacity, is expected to help the company guarantee faster and congestion-free handling. With access to a nearby rail station linked to Turkey's northern industrial areas, the facility also benefits from the ability to serve as an intermodal hub.
The EMS also includes calls at Felixstowe, Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Gothenburg, Aarhus, Antwerp, Alexandria, Piraeus, Beirut, Kumport, Gebze, Gioia Tauro, Valencia, Lattakia and Salerno.
