THE 10 member carriers of the Canada Transpacific Stabilisation Agreement (CTSA) will raise bunker surcharge rates in April.
For east coast ports, the fuel recovery charge will be US$581 per TEU, $727 per FEU, $817 per 40-foot high-cube and $920 per 45-footer.
For west coast ports, the fuel recovery charge will be $294 per TEU, $368 per FEU, $414 per 40-foot high-cube and $465 per 45-footer.
But the CTSA will cut the currency adjustment factor (CAF) to five per cent from April 1, it was five per cent through February, but was slated to rise to 6 per cent in March.
CTSA includes APL, Cosco, Evergreen, Hapag-Lloyd, Hyundai Merchant Marine, "K" Line, NYK, OOCL, Yang Ming and Zim. The agreement governs trade from Asia to Canada.
