2010-02-11 00:00:00

GENEVA's Mediterranean Shipping Co's (MSC) full-load handling charge from the UK, in force since February 1, will be applied from other European ports from March 1, the company has announced.

MSC said it plans to impose a full-load terminal-handling charge on top of present rates as of March 1 for cargo moving from northern Europe to Far Eastern ports.

The charge applies to all cargo including waste paper, plastic, scrap metal etc. The carrier said it is applying the charge "in order to secure more transparency in the market."
