SINGAPORE's Liner Shipping Pte Ltd, a freight and logistics specialist that commands a substantial market share of the Singapore-Middle East freight trade, has been awarded the prestigious Singapore SME 500 Award 2010.
"I attribute the success of Liner Shipping Pte Ltd to the commitment and dedication of my hardworking staff, loyal customers, business associates, overseas partners, carriers and PSA with whom I gained inspiration and insight to run this long route to success," said managing director Robin LM Teo, who has led the company on expansion since its inception in 1989.
The annual Singapore SME 500 Award 2010 ranks and recognises Singapore's most successful small- and medium-sized enterprises based on sales turnover and net profit, and recognises their hard work and commitment to success. They are ranked by DP Information Group along with its co-producer Ernst and Young, and supporting organisations, IE Singapore and SPRING Singapore.
"The award humbles us, and consistently, I remind my staff that we have only reached the top of the hill but the bottom of another mountain and that is when the climb begins," Mr Teo said in a company statement.
Liner Shipping Pte Ltd has extended its business activities in the freight forwarding, logistics, liner shipping, transportation and warehousing industries over the last decade by purchasing its own fleet of trucks, prime movers, trailers and heavy equipments, as well as two warehouses to serve the long-term requirements of its customers' logistical and warehousing needs.
Warehousing facilities include bonded warehouse space in the free trade zone area of PSA Singapore Terminals and a private, state-of-the-art warehouse at UBI Techpark. The company has also leased a 6,096 square metres open yard at Jurong.
