Cathay increases Saudi Arabia-Japan flight frequency

2010-01-22 00:00:00

HONG KONG's Cathay Pacific Airways is increasing existing flights to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and Sapporo, Japan ahead of demand by four times a week to daily deployed by an Airbus A330-300 aircraft in a two-class configuration.

This increases the number of flights to Jeddah, located in the west of the country on the coast of the Red Sea to 14 per week effective March 28. This includes a service to Riyadh begun in 2001 and increased from five times a weekly since August 2009. Its route to Sapporo, Japan will become daily during the heightened tourist peak of July and August.

"We are pleased to be able to boost our services to these two destinations, which will help in the further development of Hong Kong's position as one of the world's leading aviation hubs," said a spokesman.
