2010-01-21 00:00:00

Hanjin Shipping is introducing slow-steaming in one of its Asia - US East Coast services, effective today.

As part of the agreement settled among the CKYH Alliance partners (COSCON, K-Line, Yang Ming and Hanjin), Hanjin Shipping has begun slow-steaming in its current All Water Hanjin (AWH) service.

Hanjin will add one more ship, bringing to total deployed on the service to nine 4,000 TEU vessels.

The port rotation will remain unchanged: Qingdao > Ningbo > Shanghai > Busan > Panama > New York > Wilmington > Savannah > Panama > Busan > Pyeongtaek > Qingdao.
In other news, Hanjin and Wan Hai Lines will co-operate in the Transpacific trade from mid-March.

Hanjin's South East Asia - Japan Express (SJX) service, a direct service between Vietnam and the US, targets the Vietnamese and South East Asian markets that are constantly growing in spite of the economic climate.

The two shipping lines will co-operate on this service, with Wan Hai Lines adding one 4,000 TEU vessel to the five deployed by Hanjin.

Furthermore, Hong Kong will be added to the port rotation: Port Kelang > Singapore > Hochiminh (Cai Mep) > Hong Kong > Yantian > Osaka > Tokyo > Long Beach > Oakland > Tokyo > Osaka > Hong Kong.

Wan Hai Lines will also enter into a cross-charter arrangement with Hanjin Shipping on the Pacific Express (PSX) service, calling at Yantian > Kaohsiung > Shanghai > Kwangyang > Pusan > Long Beach > Oakland > Seattle > Pusan.
