Singapore's manufacturing output up 3.6pc in October

SINGAPORE's manufacturing output decreased by 6.7 per cent in October 2009 on a seasonally adjusted month on month basis. Excluding biomedical manufacturing, output increased by 1.4 per cent in October compared to the previous month.

On a year-on-year basis, manufacturing output rose by 3.6 per cent in October, with output growing by 4.3 per cent if biomedical manufacturing was excluded, according to government data.

Total manufacturing output in the first 10 months of the year contracted by 5.1 per cent compared to the same period in 2008.
