20% of capesizes stuck in ports

Almost one in five capsize vessels are anchored at ports, close to an all-time high, according to Global Ports.
The number of capesizes waiting at larger ore and coal berths in China rose to 54 last week, up from 52 the week before, Truro, England-based Global Ports in an e-mail yesterday, seen by Bloomberg. A further 64 are scheduled to arrive in China over the next 14 days, the company said.
The number of capesizes, plus panamaxes and handymaxes, at anchor at major Australian ore and coal ports rose to 146 from 136 the week before, Global Ports said. There are 178 vessels scheduled to arrive in the country in the next two weeks, the report said.
