Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co. , the world's second-biggest shipbuilder, said Sunday its subsidiary received a US$167 million order from a shipyard in the Middle East.
The order calls for DSEC Co., the shipbuilding engineering subsidiary of Daewoo Shipbuilding, to supply steel plates and other parts to build four oil tankers at the Middle East shipyard, the Korean company said in a statement, without identifying the name of the client.
Established in 2002, DSEC expects to generate about 330 billion won ($284.57 million) in sales this year.
