THE Shenzhen Neptune Logistics Co Ltd and its subsidiary in Tianjin have opened a fortnightly consolidation railway service from China to Kazakhstan running on the 15th and 30th of every month," said a company statement.
A spokesman for the intermodal department of Neptune Logistics said the venture is the first launch of such a service by a Chinese company from China to Almaty, Kazakhstan.
"We have filled a void. We always focus on customer needs with a competitive network in Central Asia. We provide door-to-door service throughout Kazakhstan. Compared to road haulage, the consolidation rail transport service is more standardised, has higher reliability, reduces transits times, and there is less risk of damage to goods. It is also more energy efficient and environmentally friendly," said the company statement.
