2009-11-09 00:00:00

The world’s leading maritime service network Wilhelmsen Ships Service has secured a Husbandry Service Agreement with NYK LNG Shipmanagement UK, London.
The agreement, secured by the company’s UK office, covers five managed vessels on charter to RasGas and is valid for a period of 12 months.
Mr Declan Rate, Business Process Manager for NYK LNG Shipmanagement UK commented on the agreement. “Wilhelmsen Ships Service offers an effective solution for NYK with a focus on operational efficiency and cost reductions. The nature of NYK LNG Shipmanagement UK Ltd's business often consists of major husbandry services taking place in busy LNG ports and terminals. These are also the ports where technical services or bunkering have been traditionally carried out and we believe that by working in partnership with Wilhelmsen Ships Service, NYK LNG Shipmanagement UK Ltd has the ability to generate considerable cost savings and operational efficiency.”
Wilhelmsen Ships Service provides a wide range of products and services incorporating Unitor marine products, technical services, ships agency and maritime logistics offered under one banner.  The company also provides safety service, liferaft rental exchange, Unitor gases and maintenance and repair products to NYK LNG Shipmanagement UK.  In addition the company expects to formalise an FRS (Fire Rescue and Safety) Fleet Agreement for three LNG vessels.
Chris Simmons, the account manager at Wilhelmsen Ships Service who led the negotiations commented: “We are very pleased to be able to offer NYK these services, and we look forward to expanding our business with this customer in the future.”
