Chinese shares close mixed Monday

Chinese equities closed mixed Monday.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index increased 1.72 points, or 0.06 percent, to end at 3,109.57.

The Shenzhen Component Index dropped 27.95 points, or 0.22 percent, to close at 12,815.26.

Combined turnover shrank to 218.72 billion yuan ($32.02 billion) from 254.60 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
