Martin Home Furnishings offers LCL service to smaller customers

SAN DIEGO's Martin Home Furnishings has a shared container offer to provide smaller customers with savings on best selling collections.

The programme allows customers to place smaller orders, with a minimum of 800 cubic feet, at container-direct pricing, reports US-based Furniture Today magazine.

This ends the need to geographically group orders because now a single container can have one order for California, another for Texas and yet another for North Carolina at the cube rates assigned to each destination shipped from Asia, the company said.

The container programme is factory-direct, and lead time from order to delivery is 10 to 12 weeks.
