China Shipping raises rates on most lanes

China Shipping Container Lines (CSCL) has announced peak season surcharges and rate increases on most of its major trade lanes, Exim News Service informs.
A peak season surcharge for shipments on Asia-European/Mediterranean lines of $ 200 per TEU has been in effect from September 1.

From October 1, the emergency bunker surcharge (EBS) has been raised to $ 200 per TEU.
China Shipping has also announced a rate hike from the Far East to the US East Coast from October 1 of $ 50 per FEU. For cargo bound for the US West Coast, the increase will be $ 150 per FEU, said the company statement.

From September 1, the peak season surcharge for cargo to South America East Coast has been $ 350 per TEU. From September 16, the rate for shipments on the line has been increased by $ 500 per TEU. From October 15, the rate will be increased by $ 350 per TEU.

The rate for shipments to Central America has been increased by $ 350 per TEU from September 20.

CSCL has also imposed a peak season surcharge of $ 350 per TEU on cargo to South America West Coast from September 1. From September 21, the shipment rate on this line has been increased by $ 250 per TEU.

For cargo to Australia, a peak season surcharge of $ 200 per TEU has been levied from September 1. The rate will be increased by $ 250 per TEU from October 19.

For shipments to the Middle East, the rate from north China has been increased by $ 150 per TEU, and from east and south China by $ 50 per TEU.

The rate on lines to Africa has also been increased by $ 250 per TEU from September 15. From October 15, the rate will be increased again by $ 200 per TEU.
