MSC hikes rate Med-EC South America US$291/TEU October 1

GENEVA's Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) will impose a rate increase of US$291 per TEU on cargo moving from Mediterranean ports to South America's east coast from October 1.

Current and projected market conditions along with rising operating costs have led the company to issue a general rate increase on transatlantic shipments from October 1, MSC said.
