Amsterdam's Rutges Cargo launches 'Urgent' Europe service

2009-08-31 00:00:00

RUTGES Cargo has started offering a new product called, 'Urgent', which is a secure express delivery service for customers needing to move valuable, time and temperature-sensitive shipments in Europe.

The Dutch trucker said in a statement that it has invested in a fleet of small vans capable of carrying up to 1,400 kilos of product. Prime customers for Urgent have been identified in the aerospace, pharmaceutical, high tech and luxury goods sectors.

The new service is being rolled out in phases, starting around the company's home territory in Amsterdam, followed by the whole of the Netherlands and ultimately across Europe. Rutges Cargo currently operates scheduled truck services to 100 airports throughout the continent.

"The launch of this service is initially to satisfy existing customers that require a fast and secure, small van operation but we also see considerable potential beyond just our current client base. Urgent combines all of the features that underpin our other transport services, including GPS tracking and onboard computers to ensure the security of the shipments we are carrying," said Rutges Cargo salesman Bart Waals.

Rutges Cargo is a TAPA accredited operator and trucking company member of Cargo 2000. The firm also recently upgraded its quality certification to the latest ISO 9001:2008 standard.
