GERMANY's Hapag-Lloyd container shipping line has announced it a wide range of freight rate increases on secondary trades from October 1.
From north Europe to Oceania, which includes the South Pacific Islands, rates will increase US$251 per TEU and $501 per FEU. From Oceania to north Europe/Med, the increase will be $175 per TEU and $350 per FEU. From the Med to Oceania rates will go up $250 per TEU and $500 per FEU, and from Oceania to north Europe/Med, up $175 per TEU and $350 per FEU.
From north Europe to west Africa, rates will increase $143 per TEU and $286 per FEU. And from north Europe to South Africa, they will go up $175 per TEU and $425 per FEU. From the Med to north Europe there will be a rise of $107 per TEU and $179 per FEU.
