UASC hikes rates

United Arab Shipping Company (USAC) has levied a US$250 per TEU and US$500 per FEU Aqaba Ports congestion charge for all shipments from the Far East.

According to the Shipping Gazette, UASC will also implement a general rate increase of US$150 TEU from September 15 from shipments to the to the US east coast ports of New York, Norfolk and Savannah from the west Mediterranean (Italy, the south of France, and Spain) and the Adriatic.
