FNM awarded a €90m contract to Stadler

Italian rail operator FNM has awarded a €90m contract to Swiss Group Stadler to supply 19 GTW diesel-electric multiple units for the Milano-Molteno-Lecco line and the Brescia-Iseo-Edolo line.

The vehicles are lightweight and spacious with a seating capacity of 231 for the GTW 4/12 units and 113 for the GTW 2/6 units.

According to Railway Technology, delivery of the vehicles is scheduled for 2011.
