Long Beach June container volume declines 28.7pc

THE Port of Long Beach port, the second-busiest port in the US, recorded a hefty June drop in container movement of 28.7 per cent compared to year previous with overall box trade to date down 27.4 per cent like for like, reported The Associated Press.

Imported and export cargo also dropped 28.4 per cent and 28.8 per cent respectively. Empty container movement also fell to 29.2 per cent showing a drop in those being refilled with cargo and sent overseas.
