DB will pay less

2009-07-21 00:00:00

According to information obtained by the daily FTD, Germany's Deutsche Bahn (DB) will pay less than EUR 400mn (USD 565.62mn) instead of about EUR 450mn for the acquisition of PCC Logistics, a private cargo railway company with an 8% market share in Poland. The deal is expected to be closed soon, Logistics Finland reported.
The negotiated rebate will help Deutsche Bahn's DB Schenker. Mainly DB Schenker Rail is in danger of facing losses. DB intends to develop PCC Logistics to a central foothold in East Europe - with regard to transports to Russia.
