HANJIN Shipping has announced it is joining APL in its all-water Suez service between south Asia, the Middle East to the US east coast starting July 28.

Named the AWZ (All Water Suez) service, it is operated by APL, but now Hanjin will be chartering slots to provide customers with easier access to Sri Lanka, south India, Bangladesh and the Mideast

Hanjin also expects the current transit time from Singapore to New York to be reduced from 29 to 21 days.

Port rotation on the AWZ (All Water Suez) Service will be Singapore, Colombo, New York, Charleston, Savannah, Norfolk, Jebel Ali and back to Singapore

Hanjin's first cargo will sail with APL Cyprine on July 28 from Singapore (subject to vessel schedules) with an expected transit time to New York of 21 days

Hanjin is Korea's largest shipping line, and rated the world's 10th container carrier with 200 containerships, 60 liner and tramper services moving 100 million tons a year.
