Ningbo-Zhoushan port container throughput fell nearly 9.6pc in May

EASTERN China's Ningbo-Zhoushan port handled 805,000 TEU in May, down 9.6 per cent year on year, Xinhua reported. In this month, the port's cargo throughput rose 13.6 per cent to 50.2 million tonnes. Foreign trade cargo slightly increased 1.3 per cent to 20 million tonnes.

From January to May, the port's container throughput cumulated to 3.8 million TEU, down 11.1 per cent year on year. Cargo tonnage went down a fractional 0.2 per cent to 213 million tonnes. Foreign trade cargo volume dropped 5.3 per cent to 90.4 million tonnes.
